Since the wall came down in 1989, the city has been in search of its own identity. The creation of the new "face" is being influenced by the reunion of the former East and West, the contrasts between the old and new Berlin, and the variety and the individuality of its people. An increasing number of visitors from all over the world come to see the city and enjoy the rich cultural life.

Berlin the capital of Germany is dynamic, cosmopolitan and creative, allowing for every kind of lifestyle. Some call it wild, colorful, and full of surprises, while others find it a little too hectic and gruff.

Not a really beautiful city because of the massive destruction of the 2nd world war. The historical parts in the city centre (former east) that survived have been reconstructed during the last ten years and in the same time former empty inner-city spaces were filled with totally new squares like Potsdamer Platz. The combination of old and new makes today's Berlin architecture-wise a must see in Europe.
